The video of “Did You Know” created by Karl Fisch portrays a very stong message to it’s viewers. The first statement that really caught my attention was that in the next 8 seconds 34 babies will be born because it shows that the population of the earth is growing at a rapid rate, and it could pose a problem in the future. Another statement that really caught my attention was that all 2006 college graduates from India speak fluent english because it shows that other countries are starting to become as up to date with the world as America. The last statement that caught my attention was that by the time children born in 2007 are 6 years old a computer will exceed that of their brain because it just shows that we eventually won’t be smart enough to control our technology. This video is really an eye-opening experience to watch, it really makes you change your views on the future.

Aggregator has the base word of aggregate, which means to combine and conform a collection or mass. This is appropriate because that is exactly what an aggregator does. Aggregators allow you to have a page that has subscriptions to all of your favorite sites, so instead of going to find updates of your favorite sites they are brought to you as often as possible. So much can be subscribed to because things are being added to the web daily by millions of people. RSS feeds are very helpful. They are what allow you to subscribe to the site yo want and if you know how to use them they are very beneficial and a fast easy to subscribe. If someone doesn’t use RSS and an aggregator managing their favorite sites is a lot more difficult and time consuming opposed to one who uses it because all of your subscriptions are delivered right to you. A few popular RSS aggregators are Netvibes, Google Reader, and Bloglines. Websites or blogs can be subscribed to if they have an RSS feed link. They usually have a bright color, a logo, and are in easy to see places on the page. I made a collage of RSS icons.

If you see  no RSS links there are a few ways to subscribe. One is you can go to this RSS Workshop. You can also scrape the website using mywebfeeds. and lastly you can send an E-Mail to the Webmaster suggesting that they add a link to their page.

            www.picnik.com is a website that you can use to edit a photo by changing color temperature, saturation, contrast, shadows, highlights, and many other things. I think I am most impressed with the shadows, highlights, and contrast feature. The only thing that would make it better in my opinion would be to add more features and tools to the picture editing. A great thing about Picnik is that it is free unlike Photoshop Elements ($99.99), Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 ($99.99), Photoimpact ($89.99), and PhotoPlus ($39.99). Other people also think that this is a great photo editor (http://www.benh.org/techblog/2007/03/picnik-the-best-online-photo-editor/). I edited an image by changing the contrast, shadows, and temperature by turning them up above 0 where it is originally set. I personally like the outcome of the edited photo more than the original product.

           In my overall opinion I think that the basic program is great. One reason is because it is very useful and has a lot of features for a free program. Also it is convenient to edit an image quickly and easily because you just upload an image from your computer and edit it with the tools provided. If you’re looking for a free program with basic photo editing tools then I would definitely give www.picnik.com a thumbs up.
